I received a suspicious message
If you have received an email or text message that seems to come from our store, but raises your doubts - be careful. Suspicious messages are often part of a phishing attack phishing (impersonating trusted companies to extort data or money). Below we explain how to spot fake news and what to do to stay safe.
What are suspicious messages?
Suspicious message is one that looks like it was sent by our store (or another trusted institution), but is actually an attempted scam. Scammers may send emails or text messages impersonating us to get you to provide sensitive information (e.g., account password, payment card number) or click on a dangerous link. These types of attacks are called phishing or phishing attempts.
Most often, the purpose of such messages is to capture your login credentials or get you to make payments to a fake account. For example, you may receive a fake email about an alleged problem with an order or outstanding payment, containing a link to "confirm" the data. Once clicked, you may end up on a page deceptively similar to our site, where you will be asked to enter your login and password or card details - which will end up in the hands of scammers. Other times, the message may promise a bogus promotion or "prize" to entice you to click on a suspicious link.
How to spot a suspicious message?
Phishing messages are often cleverly crafted, but there are usually some signs that they are not coming from us. Here are the typical elements that should arouse Your vigilance:
Unusual sender address: Check the e-mail address from which the message came, or the SMS phone number. Scammers often use addresses that are deceptively similar to official ones (e.g., with a minor typo or a different domain name). Our official emails come exclusively from the domain @sellbest.en or ecothunder.en - if the sender has a different address (e.g., free Gmail or a strange domain), the message is suspicious. Also, text messages from our store are sent from our name or official number - never from private phone numbers or foreign numbers you don't recognize.
Linguistic errors and suspect style: Fake news often contains typos, spelling or grammatical errors, and unusual phrases. Our communication with customers is prepared carefully and in correct Polish - if you see glaring errors in the message or it looks like it was translated automatically, treat it with suspicion.
Links directing to unknown sites: Hover your cursor (in SMS, pay attention to the content of the link) over the link in the message, without clicking go. If the link looks different from the address of our official site (e.g., contains a strange string of characters or a different domain than the sellbest.en), it is a sign that it may lead to a fake site. Scammers often mask links with friendly text like "sellbest.pl/promotion", but when clicked, they direct to a completely different page.
Unexpected attachments: If an email contains an attachment that you don't expect (e.g., a PDF supposedly with an invoice, even though you didn't order anything), don't open it. Such attachments may contain malware. Our store, after you place an order, places the invoices in the body of the e-mail or makes them available after logging in the customer panel - we do not send files in attachments if you have not taken an action yourself (for example, you have not bought a product from us or contacted us about something).
Urgent call to action and threats: Scammers often try to create time pressure or fear. Phrases like "immediate action required", "Your account will be blocked if...", or "last chance for a prize" are designed to panic you into quickly clicking a link or providing data. Remember that our store never scares customers in this way - in case of real problems with the order, we contact in kind and without threats.
An offer too good to be true: If a message promises a huge discount, free product or cash in exchange for clicking a link or providing details, approach it with great caution. Scammers hope that the vision of a "unique opportunity" will tempt recipients to act rashly. It's always a good idea to verify such revelations on our official website or hotline, rather than believing an unexpected email.
What are the official communication channels of our store?
To make it easier for you to distinguish real correspondence from fake, we remind you what channels we communicate through:
E-mail: Our official emails are sent only from addresses in the domain sellbest.en or ecothunder.en. Examples of addresses from which we write to customers are:
contact@sellbest.en,office@sellbest.encontact@ecothunder.enandno-reply@sellbest.en/no-reply@ecothunder.en. If you receive an email purportedly from us from another domain (e.g.sell-best.en, sellb3st.en, sel1best.pl, najlepszepropomocje24.pl,or completely different), you can be sure that it's an attempt at fraud.SMS: We sometimes send SMS notifications to customers (e.g., about an order ready for pickup, or discount codes). Such messages are broadcast from our official number or display our name as the sender (so-called sender SMS message sellBEST). Never we do not send SMS messages asking for your password, card number or other data - or with links that would lead to unverified sites. If we provide a link in the SMS, it directs to our official website (e.g., to track a shipment) and does not require from you to provide sensitive data.
Other channels: You can always check your order information by logging into your customer account on our official website. We don't contact customers through social media (Facebook, WhatsApp, etc.) on matters of payment or account details. If someone tries such a contact, claiming to be our store and asking for confidential information, you can assume it's a scam.
What to do if you receive a suspicious message?
If you have even a shadow of a suspicion that an email or text message you have received purportedly from our store is fake, follow these steps:
